What Makes Us Different

There are many platforms that make the voting process easier when it comes to election time. So what sets us apart from other software? Sites like Vote.org are extremely helpful, but we want to compile these resources into an app with a simple interface. Apps are more accessible— they are right in the palm of your hand. Below, we researched platforms similar to ours and outlined what inspired us to create Let's Vote.

Accessibility

We provide tools and support for site users who may need the functionality of our app. Our website design is inspired by https://www.scope.org.uk/, the website for disability equality charity Scope, is a lesson in how to do keyboard accessibility well. It has an "accessibility" page, which is given prominence in the top navigation bar next to ‘Contact’.

Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

Our app lets you keep track of crowd sizes on your voting place throughout the day, allowing you to choose the safest time to vote. We were inspired by stopcovid app, which uses GPS for contact tracing.

Simple Layout

Based on Census.gov's article about voter age turnout, the age group with the most voters fall in the 45-64 and 65+ groups. Older generations are not as fluent with technology, so it's important to provide a simpler layout than other platforms like Vote.org and VoteWithMe that they can understand.

Know Your IssuesLocal and National

Our app will let users research each candidate for up-to-date and factual information. This section of our app was inspired by the app Government Leaders. We would like to model ours in an objective viewpoint like GL. One of the things that sets our app apart from Government Leaders and others alike, is that our information will be much more organized, much more direct/concise, and will only display those who are pertinent to the current election that the app is being used for by the user.
